What is sonic technology and how is it different from a rotating brush?

Our toohbrushes' sonic technology is different from oscillo-rotating technology (round heads), but no less effective! 😊

With sonic technology, the soft brush bristles vibrate, generating between 31,000 and 40,000 vertical sweeping micro-movements per minute depending on the chosen mode, which helps to avoid damaging tooth enamel and gums, to effectively eliminate dental plaque, and to thoroughly clean teeth.

According to a study carried out with 347 of our customers:

-90% consider brushing with sonic technology to be less aggressive and more pleasant than with their previous toothbrush (this figure rises to 95% for those who previously had an oscillo-rotating brush!).

-85% who had bleeding gums reduced or completely eliminated bleeding after a few months of use.

- 96% consider brushing to be as or more effective than their previous brush.

Furthermore, our brushes are generally quite wide and allow you to clean all of your teeth, especially those in the back.

At what age can you start using an electric toothbrush?

We recommend using our toothbrushes from 8, especially if your child is not used to using an electric toothbrush.

For younger children, the head may be too large, the brush too heavy, or it may be difficult for them to grip.

This past year, we have begun working on a version for children aged 3+. It should be released in the next few months.

How does the subscription work?

Our subscription system is very simple.

Before adding a toothbrush to your cart, choose how often you want to receive a new brush head as well as any other products (toothpaste, dental floss, etc.), then proceed to checkout.

It costs €5.90 per brush head, including delivery.

A subscription comes with no obligation. It can be cancelled or modified (address, frequency, etc.) in two clicks from your Account at any time, without exception.

A subscription also extends the warranty for your toothbrush for as long as you are a subscriber!

Can I get a refund if I don't like the toothbrush?

Of course! While return periods are normally 14 days, we decided to increase ours to 30 days from the date of receipt so you have plenty of time to try the toothbrush and get used to the sonic vibrations! (It may tickle a little at first, but that feeling goes away after about 3-7 days 😌).

If you're still not convinced, you can send us a refund request within 30 days to hello@myvariations.com with a reason why it's not working out.

N.B.: Even if you got free delivery for your toothbrush, returns are charged €6 per brush to cover return costs (we will send you a return label).

How do I order new brush heads?

To order new brush heads, you have three options:

1. Opt in to a subscription when you first buy your toothbrush (or after) to receive one or more brush heads, direct to your mailbox, as often as you'd like.

The price is €5.90 per new head (delivery included). It also extends the warranty on your toothbrush.

Subscriptions have no obligation - they're 100% flexible - so you can stop or modify (frequency, color, etc.) your plan whenever you want in two clicks from your Account.

3. Visit a partner pharmacy which offers packs of 3 brush heads (the list is growing day by day!): https://myvariations.com/pages/store-locator

Is it waterproof?

Our toothbrushes are completely waterproof and can be used in the shower! 🚿

However, you must be sure to close the rubber flap that protects the USB-C port after charging your brush. Don't panic, though, because you only need to recharge it once every 30 days! 😁

Remember to dry your brush thoroughly after each use.

How does the timer work?

Our brush features an automatic 2 minute timer! 😉

The brush pauses for half a second every 30 seconds to help you divide your brushing into 4 zones (bottom front, top front, bottom back, top back) before turning off automatically after 2 minutes. 🕦

Go again for a second round if you feel like 2 minutes isn't long enough (even if it means stopping it before the end)! But, we chose 2 minutes because it's the optimal length of time to brush as recommended by dentists. 👍

Is MyVariations suitable for sensitive teeth and gums?

Our brushes are 100% suitable for people with sensitive teeth and gums or problems such as gingivitis/periodontitis.

The 5 different brushing modes which offer different bristle movements and brushing intensities allow everyone to find a setting that best suits their preferences and level of sensitivity.

We recommend using the “sensitive” brushing mode (red light) to start with as the vibrations are slightly less intense.

Plus, the sonic technology of our toothbrushes is gentler on the gums than traditional electric toothbrushes. The brush bristles are soft and made of 0.152mm nylon, avoiding damage to gum tissue.

Do I need to create an account before placing an order?

No. You do not need to create an account before placing an order. You will receive an email to activate your customer account after you complete your first order.

It will not work if you try to create an account before placing an order.

N.B.: creating an account is only possible if you have opted in to a subscription, as that's its only use (for now).

What is the delivery timeframe?

All our orders are shipped from our two logistics warehouses, based in the suburbs around Paris, France.

Orders placed in the morning are (90% of the time) dispatched the same day, sometimes the next morning if we are experiencing high order rates.

Delivery is estimated to be 48 hours after dispatch.

Delivery is made by Colissimo or GLS, always with a tracking number.

We aim to offer click-and-collect from collection points and parcel lockers within the next few months.

Can a MyVariations toothbrush be used on crowns, implants, bridges, etc.?

Our toothbrushes are perfect for people with bridges, crowns, implants, etc.

They are also good for people with sensitive teeth and gums due to their soft nylon bristles and sonic technology which is gentler on tooth enamel and gum tissue.

How do you charge the toothbrush and what is its battery life?

Unlike most major brands, which offer a battery life of 7 to 14 days, our brushes have a battery life of 30 days when you brush for 2 minutes twice a day. 💪

To charge your toothbrush, simply open the small rubber flap on the underside of the brush using your fingernail or a small, flat object and plug in the USB-C charging cable.

Charge for 3 hours for a full battery and you've got another month of brushing charger-free! ⚡️

Don't forget to close the flap securely after eah charge to ensure your toothbrush is watertight. 😉

What are the different brushing modes and what are they for?

Our toothbrushes have 5 brushing modes:

1. Whiten (blue): The most powerful mode, it allows slightly more vigorous cleaning, especially for people who produce a lot of plaque.

2. Clean (green): The “classic” mode features a medium intensity which cleans teeth effectively.

3. Sensitive (red): Slightly less powerful that "classic," with less bristle vibration.

It's ideal for people with particularly sensitive gums or teeth. It's the most gentle mode, while remaining super effective. 😉

4. Polish (flashing blue): An extra mode, which allows you to "smooth" and polish the surface of your teeth to give them even more shine, that alternates movements of the larger bristles.

We recommend using it as a finishing touch after brushing with one of the first 3 modes.

5. Massage (flashing green): This mode gently stimulates the gums, which improves their blood supply and "strengthens" the bonds between teeth and gums to prevent gingivitis or receding gums, for example.

N.B.: You can use the first three modes completely on their own, alternate among them day to day, or, depending on your needs, pair them with one or both of the last two modes which were designed to ​be used regularly or on occasion! 😌

How hard are the bristles?

Our toothbrushes are made with 2,452 soft Dupont nylon bristles (0.152mm diameter), which provide very effective brushing while taking care of tooth enamel and gum tissue. 🙂

In fact, dentists, several studies, and the French Union for Dental Hygiene (UFSBD) do not recommend using brushes with medium or hard bristles.

No more effective that soft ones, brushes with medium or hard bristles create lesions on your gums which can cause bleeding in the short-term and receding gums in the long-term, which can lead to loose teeth.

This is why we don't want to offer toothbrushes with medium or hard bristles and never will! 🙏.

What is the delivery timeframe?

Your first order is usually shipped within 48 hours.

Delivery is made by Colissimo or GLS, always with a tracking number.

Toothbrushes are usually dispatched the same day for orders made in the morning.

Outside metropolitan France, delivery timeframes are as follows:

- 3-4 days throughout the E.U.

- 7 days for Dom-Tom and Corsica

N.B.: Toothbrush head deliver via subscription are usually dispatched a few days after you're charged, to allow time to cancel, after which it takes 3-5 days to arrive.

Are there customs fees for delivery to Martinique or Guyana?

Customs fees may be charged by the government for delivery to Martinique (for deliveries worth more than €22).

Customs fees for Martinique are the responsibility of the customer.

How can I change my delivery address?

If you have already placed an order and would like to change the delivery address, please contact us as soon as possible at hello@myvariations.com to check if this is still possible.

Our Sales Team will respond to you within 24 hours. 💪

To modify the address for a subscription (before you're charged), you can also send us an email or edit it in your Account.

Is it possible to click-and-collect from collection points or parcel lockers?

Delivery to collection points is not currently available.

We're working on offering this option within a few months! 💪

Are there customs fees for delivery to Switzerland?

According to the Swiss government website, customs fees for Switzerland do not apply for orders worth less than 65 francs (or approximately €60): https://www.ch.ch/ fr/customs/ordering-goods-abroad/

Above that, customs fees may be charged by the Swiss government.

If you are asked to pay customs fees, do not hesitate to contact us at hello@myvariations.com with supporting evidence.

Where are orders shipped from?

All of our stock is in France! 🇫🇷

All our orders are shipped from our two logistics warehouses, based in the suburbs around Paris, France.

Can I receive my subscription at a different address than my initial delivery address?

You can place your first order at any address and receive your subscription brush heads at another. 😊

To do this, you simply need to update your address in your Account once your initial order has been placed.

Otherwise, you can also send it to us by email at hello@myvariations.com, explaining the change you want to make.

You can also order a Duo Pack to one address and have the 2 brush heads delivered to two different addresses, at no additional cost.

How do I get an invoice for my order?

Invoices can be downloaded directly from your Order Confirmation email through the link provided. 😊

Can I pay in installments?

No. This option is not available at this time, unless you check out with Paypal for an order not containing a subscription.

How do I change my payment information?

To change your payment information for a subscription, simply log in to your Account and click on the button provided for this purpose.

If you can't access to your Account, send us an email at hello@myvariations.com. We'll send you an activation link for your account in no time at all. 👍

What payment methods do you offer?

Several 100% secure payment methods are available:

1. Pay by card (debit or credit).

2. Pay with Paypal.

3. Express Pay with Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Shop Pay.

We do not accept checks.

What should I do if my payment doesn't work?

If your payment doesn't go through, it's most likely a verification issue with your bank.

Sometimes our system is very (or even too) secure and will require payment verification through "3D Secure."

In the event you're asked to confirm your payment, you must approve the transaction in your bank's app or confirm with an SMS confirmation code.

However, sometimes payments still don't work despite this ... 😔

In most cases, this is due to the fact that there is a second step necessary to confirm the payment.

In order to pass this second security step, you usually just need to click "Return to Site" and reconnect to your in the secure window.

You can try this several times if necessary.

You will only be charged once you arrive at the Order Confirmation page and receive a confirmation email 😊.

There are some cases where the payment is simply refused by your bank (this happens with some foreign cards). In this case, we recommend that you try to pay with another card, or with the same card but through Paypal's checkout system.

On Paypal, simply click "Create an Account", then enter your delivery information, debit/credit card, etc. and the payment should go through.

Where are your toothbrushes produced?

We want to be 100% transparent with our customers: just like most major electronic product brands, our toothbrushes are produced in China.

When we first launched in 2020 we wanted to produce in France, but no factory here met our requirements, nor did we have the means to open our own. 😔

We developed a partnership with a producer in China that has more than 20 years of experience in the dental industry and we carried out numerous tests with dentists and average people in order to guarantee the best experience for our customers. 🤓

We are nonetheless a 100% French company based in suburban Paris with stock that's shipped directly from our two logistics warehouses, also based in Ile-de-France.

We organise our own production according to our specifications with our producer each month. We have a very strong, long-lasting relationship built on trust.

We carry out numerous quality control tests (following more than 500 control points) internally, as well as through external companies such as SGS, the auditing company responsible for verifying that our production plant complies with all safety and working conditions.

Our products are all CE and RoHS certified, as shown by the markings on our packaging.

All these measures allow us to be certain that the products we offer are as high quality, safe, and durable as possible. 💪

To prove the confidence we have in the quality of our toothbrushes, we also offer an extended warranty on them to all of our subscribers.

Furthermore, we pay all our taxes and social contributions in France, as well as electronic waste recycling fees (DEE).

We also create jobs (we are a team of around ten people) and work with logistics partners based in France, including a subsidiary of Emmaüs, a charity which enables the social reintegration of several dozen people. 🥰

Are brush heads from other brands compatible?

No. Other brush heads are not compatible with our toothbrushes.

However, it's very easy to order new heads on our site or you can also find them at certain stores! 😉

There are several ways to buy:

1. Through a subscription (with no commitment) which allows you to receive one or more heads, direct to your door, as often as you like (which also includes a lifetime guarantee on your toothbrush).

3. Buy 3-packs of brush heads in pharmacies, on Amazon, or in one of our partner stores.

Does the MyVariations toothbrush whiten teeth?

Our toothbrushes do not have a whitening effect, per se (no toothbrush can whiten teeth!), but they do help brighten your smile by slightly reducing stains on your teeth with regular use.

According to a large consumer study conducted among 3,518 of our customers:

- 70% found their smile brighter than before,
- 58% found that their teeth stains decreased.

Our brushes emit a sound of approximately 49 dB to 54 dB depending on the mode, compared to 55 dB to 70 dB for most conventional electric toothbrushes.

Is it normal for there to be a gap between the brush head and the handle?

Yes. It's normal for there to be a small gap of a few millimeters between the head and the toothbrush handle.

This space that allows the sonic vibrations to work properly, otherwise they would be greatly reduced and ineffective in removing plaque. 😊

What accessories do you offer?

Does the MyVariations toothbrush remove tartar?

No toothbrush can completely remove existing tartar. Only scaling at your dentist can. 🦷

Even so, our brushes remove dental plaque very effectively, and dental plaque is responsible for the formation of tartar on your teeth!

The toothbrush can therefore prevent tartar with regular use.

According to a large consumer study conducted among 3,518 of our customers:

Why offer a subscription system?

People rarely change their toothbrush: every 8 months on average! 😅

This is far longer than dentists recommend. The advise changing every 2 to 3 months maximum.

Not changing your brush head often enough can cause long-term tooth and gum disease. After several months of use, the bristles are no longer as effective when compared to a new brush head, and bacteria can develop (even if you rinse after each use).

That's why we offer a replacement head delivery system straight to your door every 1, 2, or 3 months (the choice is yours!).

You can change the date of the next delivery, postpone, or cancel at any time from your Account.

The price of our replacement heads is cheaper than or comparable to those sold by larger companies in supermarkets or pharmacies.

We also offer an extended warranty to our customers who subscribe! 💪

How do I manage my subscription?

The subscription is 100% flexible, with no commitment! 😊

It can be modified (frequency, quantity, products, address, etc.), delayed, or canceled at any time, with no conditions, directly from your Account (accessible only once your order has been confirmed).

If you do not have access to your subscriber area, do not hesitate to contact us at hello@myvariations.com , we will respond to you within 24 hours maximum.

Can I order a single brush head as a subscription?

Yes. If you already have the toothbrush, you can start a subscription at any time for replacement heads! 😉

To subscribe, simply go to the “Brush Heads” section. Make sure to use the same email address as when you first ordered.

You'll then have access to your Account!

N.B.: We cannot create a subscription for you, you must place an order for it to activate. 😊
